I just got this yesterday and tried it out for the first time last night. I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and thought it might be a bit too early to detect the heartbeat, but we were able to find it within the first minute. I'm not much of a nervous nelly, but we both felt so much better after hearing that. Even my husband had a little tear in his eye! They say no gel is needed but I used some baby oil and it seemed to help.

I've got one of these - it's brilliant and I can't recommend it enough. I found my lo's hb at 9 weeks (honestly) and have never really had any problems locating it.

Biggest tip I can give is always use gel and remember before you're 16 weeks to point the doppler down into your pelvis - lo doesn't move up until after this time and if you're looking for hb in your tum you won't find it!
